Church Carnival

Last night was our annual church carnival. We love getting to see all the kids dressed up in their costumes. There is always blow up jumpy slides and bounce houses. There is also sweet people that donate their time and cars so the kids can Trunk or Treat. Our good friends face paint all the little faces, we were missing one special friend this year Auntie Laura (she is in Peru working with Extreme Nazarene Ministries). Over all we had a great time. I love their costumes this year. Kaden really wanted to Mario and so it made it really easy to decide what Kaleb was going to be. They pulled off their costumes really well. It seemed that everyone loved it. These are some of my favorite pictures.

Random Fun

Here are some random fun around our house....My Boys are pretty AWESOME.Sunday Nap

Kaden is in our harness for Kaleb. Kaden wanted to go in really bad. At least now we know they don't lie about the weight. =)

My Crazy Boys!

Kaden's Halloween Costume 5 years ago....It is 3-6 month Costume. The onesies is 18mth onesies. We pulled clothes out For Kaleb and Kaden wanted to try them on and stuff and they "Fit".

Top Bunk

Well it is time Kaden moved to the top bunk. I can't believe he is old enough. He asked if he could move up there a bit ago but we just now let him do it. He did great. I swear my next blog will be about Kaden going off to High School.

Our Helper

Kaden asked Corey if he could feed Kaleb a snack...It was the sweetest moment. Kaden loved it. If Kaleb wouldn't open his mouth Kaden would say to him "Come on Kaleb say AWWW". It was just so sweet. What cracked me up was Kaden would move his tongue every which way while he was feeding him and when he wiped his mouth.

Brotherly Love

Last night the boys were playing and Corey put Kaleb on Kaden's shoulders..Kaden started running and I had to video tape it. I just thought it was the cutest thing. =)

Stealing Snuggles

One of my favorite times of the day is stealing snuggles from Kaleb. I have many favorite times with my kiddos, but I will miss this when they get to big to snuggle with there mama. I have had two boys that hate to snuggle they always just want to go go go, but Kaleb when he starts to get tired but not quite ready for a nap he climbs into my lap and he snuggles and plays this cute little game with me. He pops his head up and gives me a noggin and he just laughs. It is super cute. I just love these times. =)

I Cut His Hair

Well yesterday was the big day I cut/shaved Kaden's hair. He handled it really well. A lot better then I thought he was going to all up to the time where I nicked his ear. Oh did he scream, and his ear bled (a lot). My hear sank....I couldn't believe i did it. The only good thing is the hair cut was done so we were able to put Kaden in the shower to help the ear to stop bleeding. Oh and a side not as I was cutting Corey's hair I accidentally grabbed Kaden's guard to the shaver and I an started shaving. Yeah so both boys got the same haircut. That was one more plus of the day. Kaden was happier once he saw his dad with the same hair his ear hurt less. =) Thank goodness I felt so unbelievably sad for him and sorry to Corey.

Library

I have been taking the boys to the library more and more. I have been trying to go every week since Kaden started school. It is now just a part of our week and we get 15-20 or sometimes more books every week. The only homework Kaden gets is to read books everyday. That is definitely the best kind of homework for our family we love reading books. Sometimes for a special treat we get a video. Kaden loves it. He loves to play on the computers and Kaleb loves to play on these toys they have there. Kaleb also loves to run around back and forth. I love this little library.

Eating Habits

Kaleb is on a hunger strike....Kind of... I have no idea what is going on with this little guy. He won't eat anything but his yogurt drink, grapes, and maybe a little water. After a day of that I have made this new kind of yogurt drink for him that gives him some veggies...He will suck it down which is good but I feel bad for sneaking it in and he isn't getting any protein the last 5 days. Please pray that he will start liking normal food again. I hope this doesn't last long. At least he is getting fruits and veggies.

Hair Cut

So Corey, Kaden and I were hanging out in the living room when Corey went to help Kaden get ready for bed. Corey noticed a patch of hair on Kaden's lap...
Corey: "KADEN....what happened"
Kaden: "I don't know it just happened"
Me: "What happened"?
Corey: "He cut his hair"
Me: "Oh Kaden, why would you do that...Well I'm gonna need to shave your head"
Corey: "Never cut your hair again"
Kaden: "No you can't shave my head"

Then he CRIED for like 5 minutes. I could get him to stop. He loves to spike his hair and when I shave it well he wont be able to do it. I hope that he doesn't do it again...I'm thinking after the tears he wont.

What a Difference 5 Years Makes

I told you I was feeling nostalgic. Kaden has been in our lives for 5 years 3 months and 26 days. I try and look back on a time when he wasn't here and honestly I can't remember. Kaden in our lives changed from a couple into a family. Kaden was the best baby in the world. He was a great sleeper (at 3 weeks old he was sleeping 10pm-10am and shortly after that he was sleeping 8:45pm-10am I mean he was a GREAT sleeper). He took 2 naps a day each consisting of 3 to 4 hours. One of the many things I can say about Kaden is he was and is a really good hard sleeper (one of the things he gets from me). Kaden was such a calm baby, he rolled with the flow. He was on a schedule super early, but if it ever got interrupted he just went with it. I think that is what has helped him be the well adjusted kid he is today. Kaden rolled over at 2 weeks 5 times and then he was rolling over for good at 5 months. He would only roll over if Corey and I were out of the room. We had to video tape him just to see him do it. He walked at 9 months and was running at 9.5 months. Kaden was and has always been a daddy's boy. He idolizes his daddy to the fullest. I love their bond it is something that hopefully will never be rocked. It is amazing to see the smile Kaden gets when his daddy comes home or surprise him in any way. I must be honest - I have been jealous of their special bond. Sometimes it feels like I have entered into a no girls allowed tree-house, but to see their bond grow over the years I also feel so very blessed to have be able to witness it. It is a bond like I have never seen before. Kaden has always been an observer and it started when he was an infant. He would just stare at people, he just loved to people watch. I remember this one story: We were at a church function and our associate pastor John was talking to Kaden (Kaden was 9 months) and Kaden was just watching him and John kind of freaked out, saying "Man he just stares into your soul". This story always cracked me up because Kaden always had these amazing big brown eyes that love to see everything. As Kaden grew up he became a funny little boy that loved to make you smile. He was a great kid and just an easy going kid. We definitely had times where I was praying it was a phase because he would act out and wouldn't listen, but I new (and prayed) that deep down he was a great kid. Oh and did I mention I was right. Kaden, like every kid, has his faults but they are definately sugar coated with all his amazing qualities. I love this sweet kid. I can't wait to see what he has in store for us. He will be amazing to watch as he grows. I posted pictures of Kaden at every Halloween for the past 5 years.

What a Difference a Year Makes

I was watching Kaleb play today after we dropped off his brother at school and I just can't get over how big my baby has gotten. He is a year old, he is walking, he is talking (Mama, Dada, Baba), he is eating normal food, he takes a bath without a booster seat. I have no idea what is in store for us tomorrow, but today is my nostalgic day. I look at picture of what a sweet charming calm baby he once was to pictures of an energetic, curious, most loving almost-toddler now. I just love my sweet baby boy and I will hold on to him and snuggle with him as long as he will let me because I know it won't last forever. I will cherish this time with him because I know it will just FLY by so very fast. I also know there will be time where I just want to get rid of him (and well if you are a mom you probably know what I'm talking about) but it will be followed with a big hug and a kiss and I will choose to remember those moments. I am already filled with precious memories of this sweet baby. I have no idea how I lived my life without him. I feel so blessed that God has entrusted me with this sweet child. I hope I can raise him right. I want you to know something Kaleb: I love you Snuggle Bug. I want you to know you are a great kid and I'm so proud to be your mother.

Sea World

When my sister was in town with her family Corey and I bough year passes to Sea World. We having been using them up and been having a lot of fun doing so. We went to Sea World again yesterday. The boys had a great time. We went to go look at the whales but they weren't there they had Dolphins there. It was a lotta of seeing them under the water. They were so playful. We went and saw the Manatees, Sharks, Fish, Seals and the Seal show. It was a lot of fun. I think this was the first time Corey and the boys had gone by our selves. It was fun.

Big Kid Now

Kaden is growing up way to fast. I just can't believe it sometimes. Corey walked into our bathroom and Kaden was doing his hair. I have been spiking his hair for 4 almost 5 years. He got hair faster then Kaleb LOL. Well Kaden was spiking his hair all by himself. It was just a surprise because Corey and I never really had Kaden try to do it before. He did a really good job. What a big kid.

King of the Day

Kaden's school has this really cool way of getting to know a little bit about each child in his class - King or Queen of the day. Kaden would come home every day saying "well, not today mom". He would even say "Mom, I don't think I will ever happen for me". Well it finally happened and he was ecstatic. He had to bring 3 of his favorite things in to school to share. 1. Don't spill the Beans (Game) 2. "Mac" Truck (From Cars) 3. His 4Children Bible (Ok I know....after I dropped him off for school I had a little bit of a "what is going to happen I hope they still let him share it" kinda moment). I mean I have no idea what they do with these kinda of things. Kaden LOVES his Bible, Corey and he read it all the time. He loves the stories in there, so when they had mentioned you can bring your favorite book he ran got it and I put it in the bag not even a second thought. Kaden went to a Christian preschool, he took it there for show and tell as well and so it never crossed my mind. ANYWAYS, it went fine no problems at all. He had a fabulous day.

Pumpkin Patch

We headed to Baits Nut Farm. It was so much fun. It is amazing what a year makes. Kaleb was walking around, last year he was barely awake. Corey loves running and pushing the kids in the wheel barrel. Kaleb loved it this year....Last year he really didn't get to ride. Kaden picked out the pumpkins, and we headed over to the live music. The Kaden and Kaleb loved to dance. Kaden found some blocks and we started to build with them...these blocks were so detailed and very nice. After that we went and saw the animals. It was a fun filled morning. I love our pumpkin patch tradition. =)

Meeting

Corey and Kaden were talking when Corey asked Kaden who his best friends were at school and
Kaden said "Calvin and Orsally...you know dad I have a secret"
Corey said "what is it"
Kaden said "Ummmm Orsally and Calvin are going to go play at Calvin's house and I'm going to go too, but don't tell mom".
Corey said "Well Kaden your mom needs to know because she is the one that will probably take you, so you have to tell her"
Kaden said " Ok, Well I think we all need to have a meeting then"

Kaden then went and grabbed all the phones and hid them under the couch. He said to both of us "OK let the meeting begin, lets all sit on the couch"

Kaden opened with "Ok mom we are having this meeting because I want to have Orsally and Calvin over to our house to play....Or we can all go play at Calvin's house"
Me "Well I have to get a hold of them and ask if it is ok for you kids to play....Maybe we can all meet at a park and you guys can play."
Kaden "Well no we can just play over here"
Me "well Kaden it is hard because their parents don't know me and I don't know them...We should meet somewhere first and then maybe next time"
Kaden "I know what we can do we can pick them up from school and bring them here"
Me "We have to tell their parents"
Kaden "Oh OK fine...We need to do it soon"

I just thought it was really funny

Meeting the Newest Olivari

My sister and her husband came to town this last weekend and we all got to meet the newest Olivari. Giovanni is a month old and as sweet as can be. It was such a joy to meet him and to hang out with Tony and Dom. Corey and I got to babysit for one night as they celebrated their one year anniversary. We had such a great time. We had a blast at Sea World and over all just hung out. Kaden just loved being the big cuz. He held him and kissed him all over. Kaleb even warmed up to him...he had a hard time because he wanted to steal Gio's bottle and pacifier. Once he realized he couldn't have them he was good to go. They were all such sweet boys. Dom and Tony took Kaleb to Build-a-Bear for Kaleb's birthday. It was a lot of fun. I can't wait until they get to run around and play together. I wish all the family could live next to each other and the boys could grown up near all of their cousins. We are 3 boys and 3 girls now it will be fun to see what is next. =)
