Kaden's Last party

I went into Kaden's class today so I could help out on their last party. It was a lot of fun. I had to (I of mean GOT :)) to fill up 200 water balloons. Super fun. ;) The kids had tons of fun lots of games. One of the Dads and I carried all the balloons out to the playground. I thought I was going to rip my hand off. LOL The kids had to stand in a line and let Ms O'hara throw a balloon at them. If they did they could throw one at her. THEY all had so much fun. We also had a balloon toss and a free for all. =) AhhhhhMAZing

Kaden took it like a champ. SO FUNNY!

Last week of school

Today the kids had their last week of school. They have had tons of activities. Todays was dress up in your PJ's and watch movies in Kaleb's class and in Kaden's class they wore hats and stashes (for those of you old enough to understand "Sweating to the oldies" I was referring to mustaches). Kaden wore his Luigi hat and I drew a mustache on his sweet mouth. Kaleb wore his pj's today and had a great time. The best time of year is the last week.

Kaleb and Vito wanted 'Stashes' too

3rd Place

I found out today that Kaleb got 3rd place at his jog-a-thon.....GOOD JOB buddy! He ran his little heart out. =)

Last Week of School

Well this school year is rapidly coming to a close. Where has the time gone? I mean really where has it gone, can anyone tell me? I have an almost 10 year old an almost 6 year old and an almost 4 year old. I guess life flies when you are having fun.

Well these boys started the school year at a new school to all of us. Kaden has been begging us to switch school for a while now and Kaleb got into Transitional Kindergarten (PreK). Kaleb excelled in his class. He did excellent and hopefully it will help him excel in kindergarten next year. I feel like this was a great step for my sweet grumpy boy.

Kaden did well too. We found a lot of things out about Kaden this year. He is very smart (we knew this already, just not the extent of it). Kaden got top ranking at his other school for his star testing. We also found out that Kaden does well at not doing his best unless he understands it is necessary. Sad thing is he hardly thinks it is necessary. He blew it up on his mission project. He got 100% on all three categories. He had the best speech presentation in the class. I was totally impressed. Finally we learned that if he is told that something is not going to count for anything he will not take it seriously, he will not try. Star testing this year was changed. Two first major change was that it was created for the kids to take the test on the computer...I mean the kids have been around electronics their entire lives, why not switch all the test to be taken on computers? The second thing is they made the test immensely harder. Five teachers at the boys' new school took the test and failed...UGH, should I be worried that the teachers are teaching my kids and can't pass the 4th grade star test or should I be worried that the expectation put on my kid to pass this insanely hard test is ridiculous? I guess it's a draw. I guess I should get to the good part the part where I brought up the fact that when he realizes that things don't count he doesn't try. Kaden took his star test in 2 minutes this year, needless to say he failed it.

Kaden and Kaleb are finishing this school year with a ton of great activities. They had Backwards Day today. Tomorrow in PJ day. The whole week is full of fun stuff. I just can't believe they are almost done. My crazy boys. We have a whole summer of fun to look forward to. Can't wait. =)

Speech

I went to the doctor a couple of days ago to check Karsyn speech. They tested Karsyn with play-based activities and observation and my interview. Her score interpretation, standard scores is between 85 and 115 are with in average and Karsyn is 77. So she has a significant delay. She was tested at receptive language and a 100 is average with a standard deviation of 15 points. Karsyn achieved a standard score of 94 and a percentile rand of 34. When compared to her age-matched peers, this was considered a low average. She checked Karsyn for behavior and Pragmatics and Karsyn scored 100 on that (not surprising...Karsyn is awesome. =) ). Karsyn was also tested for Functional Communication measures and she only got one server deficits and that was on speech production. Overall Karsyn will be starting speech in August. Hopefully she will like it and it will help us understand her a lot more. =)

I WILL MISS

I will miss the fact my little Kaleb will not be calling Karsyn 'his baby Sarsyn', or that Karsyn will no longer say 'this is my brother and this is my Kaden'. I can't get over the fact that my sweet little ones are growing up. I so wish we would have had another little one. However GOD blessed us with 3 great healthy children. Three kids that I could never live without. They drive me borderline bonkers almost every day, but life would be empty with out them.

Kaden, my oldest, is so funny, smart and crazy. Recently we found out that he is beyond smart (now we knew it was in there, just thought it was a little deep down, he liked to hide the fact that he was this level of smart). He scored in the top of his class on the state Star test last year in math. This years test got changed to a much more difficult test. It is now online and all the states were throwing it out. So basically it was a practice test this year. THANK GOODness because half our teachers did not pass the test (super scary). Kaden hearing at least once or twice that the test was hard and that they were throwing it out decided to take his test in 2 minutes. YUP, I said he was smart (he isn't that smart). Kaden failed his common core test without a doubt and said "Well I think she gave me the fifth grade test so why would I take it". YUP thats my boy. He had a serious consequence to his actions that he wasn't too thrilled about.  Poor Kaden learning things the hard way. Life is going to bring this kid lots of consequences.

It was a long time coming, but then God blessed me with Kaleb. He is a great kid with a huge heart and lots of wonder. He, like his brother, is very funny and very strong. Kaleb is practically Karsyn's twin. They are the same size and are like two peas in a pod. He has always loved taking care of her and watching out for her. The are always so sweet or fighting like cats and dogs. Our sweet boy has always had they funniest fashion sense. From day one he has worn his shoes on the wrong feet.  Many times they are not always the same color -- more times than not they were different colors. He wears his clothes backwards. I have tried over and over (and IF you know me you know that it bugged me) to fix it for years. I finally came to realize that my sweet Corey clone was his own person who goes to the beat of his own drum. It melts my heart now that he still does it. He is slowly learning it, slowly wearing his shoes on the right feet and wearing his clothes how they are supposed to be worn. As I wrote in the beginning of my post I WILL MISS them, my tiny babies, my tiny little beast. My sweet kids.

Thirdly I was blessed with my tiny princess, born at 5 pounds 10 ounces. I never thought I would have a girl, let a lone a princess. She is all girl, she loves taking care of her babies. Today she looked at me in shock and said "did you hear that?" I replied with a no, so she answered "Oh, my baby is crying". She ran to her room and as she was coming down the hall I hear "oh there, there my baby". I just about died. As much as I keep saying how much I am going to miss them as they grow I can't wait to see her be a real mother to her little children (well I can wait, I want her to be small forever - I am very conflicted).  She is so smart and loving. She is also one of the bossiest things I have seen in a long while (I have no idea where she got that from). She cracks me up daily. My kids are a huge piece of my life. I can't imagine life with out any of them. I truly hate that they are growing up WAY to fast.

However God has entrusted Corey and myself to raise these great kids the best we know how. I just needed to share that with you guys. Life is short, love them while they let you. Don't take life and them for granted. Enjoy your kids. It doesn't last forever.

Sea World

I had the pleasure of going with Kaleb and his class to Sea World. I love being able to go with my kids on their field trips. Kaleb got so excited that I was able to come. I got paired up with my sweet boy and a little girl, however the little girl was absent that day. I was secretly excited it was just me and my sweet boy.
Kaleb and I had a great time on the field trip. We saw dolphins, whales, turtles and lots of sharks. Kaleb stood and watched his friends come down on the ride Atlantis. He had a blasted getting soaked. =) I believe Kaleb's favorite part was experiencing this with his best pal Vito.
here are some great pictures of our field trip. I really hope you enjoy them.  =)
